Pinoki Fren is a pig. He wishes to have a soul-mate, that’s why he disguised himself to be among the Danish mermaids. (Pinoki Fren is a creation that interprets the “Danish mermaid” reference in “Meeting Old Friends”, penned by poet Desmond Kon. The poem is part of a sequence chosen by Mary Jo Bang as one of six finalists in the Noemi Press Poetry Chapbook Award. )

Absolutely wonderful, Gladys! I was thrilled to see what your creative genius came up with. Love the round pink faces with their assorted facial expressions. Love the porcine button noses. Love the scalloped tail that arches all the way back and the soft daisies as an accent. Love the accompanying baby mermaid that seems very happy and content. And the crown, nice Wonder Woman glamour to top it off. Love it all, especially how it was lovingly handmade.
